The objectives:
– to build a shipbuilding training center and shipyard in Jaffna, in the far North of Sri Lanka, which was the scene of civil war for 3 decades.
– to provide free training to 50 underprivileged Tamil youth per year.
– to replicate in the North of Sri Lanka the model that BAFF has successfully implemented on the South Coast of the island by providing, since 2006, training to 870 young people, 95% of whom have found employment in the boating and boat building industry.
– to contribute to the economic development of the country by implementing a multi-skills development, boosting the economy linked to tourism, developing rural areas and creating hundreds of jobs.
